The Story
Built because the tool didn't exist.
Framerate started in a hard drive. Thousands of images from years of shooting across India, from Theyyam rituals in Kerala to the ruins of Hampi to desert light in Rajasthan, sitting unorganised, unranked, and largely unseen. The shoot was the easy part. Everything after it wasn't.
The creator built large-scale systems for over a decade before turning that same rigour toward building Framerate, the tool he needed and couldn't find. The engineering instinct and the photographer's frustration pointed at the same problem: the infrastructure for visual content had never been built for the person who creates it. Framerate is that infrastructure.
